• Increasing Ventilation

Easy ways to reduce the moisture in the air.

Keeping your home well-ventilated will allow for any moisture to escape, reducing any risk of damp forming.

Ventilating your home can be done in many ways. Here are our tips to keep air moving around your home.

Open windows and doors:

Regularly open windows and doors to allow fresh air to circulate and stale air to exit.

Use cross ventilation:

Open windows on the opposite sides of the house to create a breeze and allow air to move around the home.

Keep vents clear:

Ensure that air vents, registers, and ducts are not obstructed by furniture or other items.

Ways to improve air quality in your home

Clean regularly

This can reduce the build up of allergens and impurities.

Monitor humidity levels

Keep an eye on indoor humidity levels and use dehumidifiers if necessary to prevent mould growth.

Add houseplants

Houseplants can help improve the air quality by absorbing toxins, increasing humidity, and producing oxygen. Try English ivy, chrysanthemum, spider plants, aloe vera or ferns

Use fans:

A fan can help circulate air, making rooms feel cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

Look out for wall and ceiling damage:

Cracks in the walls and ceilings will let water in from the outside so it’s important to tell us if you notice any damage.

Choose suitable curtains:

Choose curtains and blinds that you can adjust easily to control natural light and airflow.

Ensure washing machines and dryers have been fitted properly

To avoid leaks and damp ensure washing machines and dryers have been installed correctly.
